In an industry where sterility is paramount, clamp-on flowmeters are proving the perfect product fit for flow applications.

With the exception of clamp-on devices, all flowmeters have similar flaws when used on pharmaceutical processes. Traditional flowmeters are all installed using flanges, tappings, welds, etc., and thus can inadvertently create areas where microbiological growth can occur. Furthermore, the need for pipe modification makes these systems far from ideal when retrofitting or considering future requirements for recalibration.

It is in this area that non-invasive flowmeters excel. When installing ultrasonic instruments the customer can be sure that the integrity and sterility of the pipeline is maintained. Additionally, as the KATRONIC instruments employ the transit-time ultrasonic technique they are perfectly suited to the measurement of the ultra pure liquids found in the pharmaceutical industry.

The flow sensors are manufactured from stainless steel, have a high IP rating and are perfectly designed for clean room installation. They are also suitable for mounting to a variety of pipes including stainless steel and flexible plastic hoses.
